Who we are

The Development Centre, is an innovative mental health center focused on providing comprehensive support for psychosocial difficulties.

By providing specialized assesment, treatment and counseling services, we aim at the personalized approach of each client.

The psychologist is dedicated to building a supportive, encouraging, and safe environment where people can face challenges.

Antrea Kriton

Antrea Kriton is a Registered Specialist Clinical Psychologist (Reg. No. 768). The psychologist works with both adults and children. From a young age, her love of listening to stories, reading and creating led her to the decision to study Clinical Psychology, seeking to find a professional field that allows her to listen to the personal stories of people who trust her.

Research & Studies

After completing her BA in Psychology at the University of Cyprus with a grade of 10/10 for her Master’s thesis entitled Somatic Symptoms in Victimized Adolescents According to Gender on Maternal Attachment Quality, she continued her studies at the European University in a three-year postgraduate program, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with Excellent grade.

More generally, both in her undergraduate and postgraduate theses, she dealt with stress in children and adolescents and investigated parenting and its role in the development of internalizing problems.

During her postgraduate studies, she was trained in various therapeutic approaches and psychometric tools, completing clinical practice in local and international organizations, as well as in the Mental Health services – Nicosia General Hospital – where she received one of the four highest scores for admission in Cyprus.

The psychologist managed to receive and maintain a scholarship from the Cyprus State Scholarship Foundation for the entire duration of her undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Specialization

Antrea continued her education by completing a program in psychotherapy for children and adolescents at the Systemic Institute of Cyprus. 

She remains actively involved in ongoing professional development, focusing on psychopathology, therapeutic techniques, and human development.

Her clinical interests include anxiety, emotional difficulties, and adjustment challenges, with a particular emphasis on children, adolescents, families, and women of all ages.

She also presents her research at conferences, contributing to the broader psychological community.
